Oasis

The only show after Oak Hall was Oasis, a science fiction convention in Orlando. That was indoors and just one table, so a much smaller scale. I had a great time - the hotel was huge! It was the International across from Sea World, and had about 5 buildings of rooms in addition to three restaurants, etc.

The con itself went well, and I got to see old friends and meet new ones. Did pretty well in sales (especially compared to when I did this show 2 years ago and sold nothing). I got to meet some tax clients of mine I hadn't yet met in person (just online), and renew friendships with lots of others.

The next show I'm doing is Labor Day weekend, at Dragoncon, so time to relax (yeah, right!)

I am teaching four nights a week this summer at Santa Fe Community College, Accounting I and II. I have one class with 60 students - luckily I get paid more for the larger class size :)

I have started two new art pieces. The first is called Desert Rose:

The next is called Butterfly Kisses:

Wonderful space, no people :(

This weekend I was an artist at the Gainesville Fine Arts Festival at Oak Hall School. The setting was wonderful - shady trees, a big circle for the vendors, lots of space. The people were missing, though! Perhaps 50 people came into my tent all weekend, in all honesty. I made booth fee (which was very low) but only because two other artists bought stuff from me. Several vendors made nothing!

Sigh. Weekends like this just don't make it work. It was also very hot, especially on Saturday. Sunday had a breeze to combat it, but also brought in some sprinkles here and there.
