The Morrigan

Last weekend was a lazy, no work, weekend. I did do some much-needed housework, like cleaning out the fridge and laundry, but I spent most of a rainy Saturday working on a new piece. She's still in the works, but she is here:

She is The Morrigan, Celtic goddess of war, death, and destruction. She is also an aspect of the triple goddess, and her colors are red, white and black. The raven, a carrion bird, is one of her symbols. Many renditions of The Morrigan make her some goth-wannabe sexy chick - I wanted something more powerful, less sexpot. This is a mother defending her young, a queen revenging her people, a goddess enforcing the circle of life and death. The Morrigan.
